Work has begun on transforming the office building for Keycraft Global in Blackhouse Industrial Estate, Peterhead, following the acquisition of the property in March 2017.
Once completed, the new building will enable Keycraft to house all operations under one roof with ample space for growth. The company which specialises in wholesale pocket money toys to a global customer base has increased its turnover by 350% in 5 years, and has opened six new offices globally in the last 2 years with further expansion in the pipeline.

Doug Cowie, managing director, Keycraft said: “While we’re only four weeks into a 20 week building schedule we’re delighted with the progress made so far."
“It is easy to see all of the building work that has taken place up until now, but behind the scenes we’ve also been engaging in lean operational improvements impacting every area of the Keycraft business”.
“This whole exercise is not just about gaining room to grow, from customer service and warehouse operations, to marketing and sales - every aspect of the move and future operations is being reviewed to a fine detail”.
“Every improvement we make is to benefit our customers, and we have already implemented a few improvements prior to completion of the building work.” Mr. Cowie continued: “Over the past few weeks our team has consolidated stock of almost 1000 pallets from three warehouses, into the new building. This has allowed for all of our bulk stock to be within a mere 300 metres of our ‘Pick and Pack’ depot allowing for faster picking and packing rates.”
“Further to this, we have implemented a dedicated stock reservation area so that our clients can order stock in advance and know that we can store it safely and deliver it when they are ready. We think that this will be a popular service in the lead up to Christmas with the launch of our new GOOBANDS slime and Elf Hatching Eggs.”
With work scheduled to be completed early 2018, Keycraft aims to have relocated the entire workforce across to the new building by the end of January.
