To all our valued customers,
We want to take this opportunity to inform you of our strategy for Brexit and how that will affect our ongoing partnership. We would have preferred to have been able to update you in more detail on this subject sooner than now, but as you can appreciate it has been somewhat unclear as to the real impact until very recently.
Our enduring goal has been to ensure absolute minimal disruption to the ongoing supply of goods to you and to implement a solution that has very little or no impact on our customers at all if possible. We have laid out some of the key steps we have taken below:
- We will ensure minimum disruption/change for you to the way we currently trade. Unless otherwise agreed on specific terms, we will be shipping via the incoterm DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) which is the closest method to the way you previously received goods from us. Any duty payable upon import into Europe will be charged back to Keycraft through our couriers/clearing agents in the EU (depending on the shipping method)
- Similarly, by shipping DDP, import VAT that is due upon clearance of the goods into the EU will be paid by Keycraft using our European VAT number. This VAT payment will be handled by our nominated global VAT compliance representative
- Please note, this will mean that you may be charged VAT on the invoices that you receive from Keycraft (depending on your country and the applicable tax rules), but as a reseller, you will reclaim this VAT and it will not cost you anything extra
- Both the export declaration and the import declaration will be completed automatically via paperless trade systems that we have enrolled in with our carriers
- We will be bearing the cost of new customs charges and import/export declaration fees associated with the above changes. This may mean slight adjustments to the carriage paid amount to make this viable, but sufficient notification will be provided if this affects your order
- Enrolling in the paperless trade systems with our carriers means that delays at border crossings will be kept to an absolute minimum
- Collecting orders from Keycraft HQ will be subject to negotiations at the time of order
In simple terms, there should be almost no change in the way we currently trade together, and you should receive the same great service you currently experience.
Should you have any specific questions that you are unsure about please don’t hesitate to get in contact to discuss your specific requirements. We appreciate your custom and look forward to building our trading relationship together.
Yours faithfully,
Jake Wilkinson, General Manager
